Stone Mountain

The second part of our mini-vacation - Stone Mountain!

Philip loved riding up to the mountain.

He and Daddy went walking to the "edge"

I'm pretty sure the ride up to the mountain in the sky lift was his favorite part of the mountain.

We rode up to the mountain several times.

And we ran some more...

Chased some HUGE bubbles...

We had a drink to cool off while waiting on the train.

Finally rode the train..

And took a little rest on the train!

We also rode a Duck (special vehicle that rides on land and water).

And we all got these duck noise makers.

Which Philip LOVED.

Later we played in a huge "Barn" which had slides, tunnels, games, and fun animals to play on.

The Barn was a big hit with Philip. Especially the 3-story slide!

We had to go back the next day.

That night we stayed up extra late for the laser show.

We were very tired from the long busy day, but we made it!

We also watched a fun 4-D movie. Philip loved wearing the glasses and that it rained on us in the movie!!

Too cute.

Taking a break in the rocking chairs.
Needless to say - we had a wonderful time. As we pulled out of the parking lot, Philip said, "Why are we leaving?"

Summer in the City...

We took Philip on a mini-vacation last weekend. Our first stop was the aquarium in Atlanta.

I think he enjoyed it, but it was hard to tell by the speed at which he was moving.

He went through the rooms at high speed, glancing at a few fish along the way!

He did seem entertained by the larger fish...for about 5 seconds.

Oh well, maybe another year.

Philip would definitely rather be in the more interactive areas. He loved steering this ship!

And pressing all the buttons.

And he even waited in line to get to see the penguin.

After the aquarium, we played in Centennial Park.

Philip loved the playgrounds.

He was very brave and ready to try anything.

Slides are still a favorite.

Philip found some drums.

We did alot of running...

Philip and Dad did some chasing....

And some more chasing.

It was a long, busy day!
Soon after this, we ate dinner at Johnny Rockets with our friends Ashlee and Mike, and headed to the hotel for some much needed sleep. The hotel was possibly Philip's favorite part of the trip. Especially the elegators (elevators). The next day we headed over to Stone Mountain, but that's another post.

Tide and Tiger Night

We took Philip to a local event in Montgomery - Tide and Tiger night. It's held in the parking lot of a restaurant and benefits the Red Cross. There's food, drinks, a band, games for the kids, and some past and present Auburn and Alabama football players attend.

Philip quickly became friends with the drummer in the band, who let him play the REAL drums, gave Philip his own set of drumsticks, and a T-shirt. Who knew he was such a charmer?

Here's some video of the drumming:

He was also very interested in the dancing.

The "Big Green Bus" was also there for the kids. It's an actual green bus with lots of fun stuff inside.

Philip loved swinging from the rings!

We spent most of the night in the bus.

We had a wonderful time!!

Working...

Over the past few months, Philip saw ALOT of Mommy working on the couch like this.

He started having some of his own work to do at night before bed.

Apparently Mommy always props her feet up on the coffee table...

Future CPA - someone needs to warn him about busy season!
