More Swimming...

Philip has his own new pool!!

He was so excited when we set up the pool.

He spent the morning putting all the leaves from the yard into the pool, and then getting in the pool and throwing them out and laughing.

I think the pool is a hit.

Summertime

We're trying to beat the heat at the pool.

Philip does not like to wear or be trapped in any kind of floatation device.

So, we spend our time running back and forth between the big pool and the baby pool.

It's hard to beat the heat while running after an independent child.

Bubbles

Philip had a great time most every afternoon at the beach making bubbles.

He figured out how to wave the wand and make bubbles almost immediately!

Orange Beach Vacation

We've been at the beach all week.

Philip has enjoyed playing in the sand,

Walking in the water,

Watching the waves come in,

Building sandcastles with Daddy,

And knocking them down.

He didn't care too much for the pool.

He also enjoyed putting sand on Uncle Rob.

Walking in Daddy's Shoes

Philip has recently discovered that he enjoys walking in our shoes.

At first, he would bring us our shoes to put on while we were getting ready in the mornings.

Then one day he started putting them on himself.

And now, it's a game!

Philip's New Bike

Philip got a new toy! It can be a rocker or a bike. Here he is rocking.

And here he is riding the bike - he was so excited he ate his toast on the bike!

Watch out if you see him!

Visit to the Zoo!!

We took Philip to the zoo this weekend. Mommy has been working most Saturdays lately, so this was our first Saturday all together in a long time.

Philip seemed to enjoy climbing on the benches, running, and being outside.

The animals were secondary to everything else.

Philip is not a big fan of being carried or held anymore. He wants to be "down" and walking on his own.

Here's Philip with the Elephants.

The tiger was one of the few animals that held his attention for more than 5 seconds.

Riding the train was a favorite.

Especially sitting down on his own.

ABeeC's

Philip (20 months old now) knows his letters. Watch the prodigy in action:

He can also count to 10, so long as you give him a little leeway with the number 7 which is typically omitted.

Here's another video of Philip bee-ing silly:

Philip and the Cat

This is Philip and my parents' neighbor's cat.

Philip LOVES this cat.
He always tries to put his head on the cat to "hug" it.

Sometimes the cat allows this to happen...

Sometimes the cat runs away just in time.
