Christmas 2009

Our stockings were hung by the chimney with care...

Our Christmas Tree.

Philip's gifts from Santa!

When Philip woke up Christmas morning, the first thing he said was "I didn't hear Santa or the sleigh last night." He was relieved to see that Santa did stop by our house!

He went to work unloading his stocking.

He loved his new Slinky.

After some breakfast, we started opening some presents.

Philip enjoyed opening all the gifts!

Trying on his new apron from Nana and Granddad.

Finally, after we got dressed, we took the new tractor out for a spin.

It didn't take Philip long to get the hang of the gas pedal!

Then we headed over to Meme and B's house to open some more gifts!
Philip had a great time opening ALL the gifts here too!

He loved his new megaphone - he can call the carpool just like at school!

Merry Christmas! We had a great day! As Philip said the day after Christmas, "Mommy, Why is Christmas only one day?"

Christmas Eve 2009

We made cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve.

Philip was in charge of decorating the cookies.

He was very particular about what went on each cookie.

Here is the finished product!

Here we are getting cookies and milk ready for Santa before bedtime.

Enjoying the fire one last time before bed.

We checked the Santa tracker several times that night!

Philip's School Christmas Party

Philip had a Christmas party at school before the holidays started.

Here's his table ready for the party!

They decorated cookies,

And played Christmas Bingo!

They also had a birthday cake for Jesus.

Here is his class.

All the 3 year olds "performing"

After the program - we were invited back to the classroom for a party.

Philip had a gift for us.

He made it himself - and he was very proud!

We had a great day!

Christmas Parade and Santa

We went to the annual Christmas parade at Huntingdon again this year.

We had cookies and hot chocolate while we were waiting for the parade to start.

Santa arrived in a fire truck, and the band came in behind.

Then we headed inside to see Santa. Here's Philip getting his first glimpse.

He quickly got busy telling Santa what he wanted for Christmas.

Merry Christmas!!!

Decorating the Christmas Tree

As soon as the stores put out their Christmas decorations (shortly after Halloween), Philip started asking when we were getting our tree down from the attic and decorating it.

We told him we could decorate after Thanksgiving. So, then eveyday he asked if it was Thanksgiving yet.

He did a pretty good job this year.

Merry Christmas!!

Thanksgiving 2009

We went to St. Louis to visit Nathan's family for Thanksgiving this year. Philip remembered to wear his turkey shirt for the big day.

We visited a "transportation museum" on Friday.

Philip loved the trains.

We were able to go inside a few train cars.

We looked at alot of trains!

And Philip thought it was great to walk on the train tracks.

And we had a special treat at the end! Our first Santa visit for the year!

Philip's School Thanksgiving Feast

Philip's class in their Indian outfits.

Philip's table - ready for the "feast"

I mentioned Philip's Thanksgiving party several times - he quickly corrected me - it was not a party, it was a "feast"

Philip's Indian name was "Broken Arrow"

Playing pin the top hat on the turkey.

Equal time for the Pilgrims! We had a wonderful time!
