Summer in the City...

We took Philip on a mini-vacation last weekend. Our first stop was the aquarium in Atlanta.

I think he enjoyed it, but it was hard to tell by the speed at which he was moving.

He went through the rooms at high speed, glancing at a few fish along the way!

He did seem entertained by the larger fish...for about 5 seconds.

Oh well, maybe another year.

Philip would definitely rather be in the more interactive areas. He loved steering this ship!

And pressing all the buttons.

And he even waited in line to get to see the penguin.

After the aquarium, we played in Centennial Park.

Philip loved the playgrounds.

He was very brave and ready to try anything.

Slides are still a favorite.

Philip found some drums.

We did alot of running...

Philip and Dad did some chasing....

And some more chasing.

It was a long, busy day!
Soon after this, we ate dinner at Johnny Rockets with our friends Ashlee and Mike, and headed to the hotel for some much needed sleep. The hotel was possibly Philip's favorite part of the trip. Especially the elegators (elevators). The next day we headed over to Stone Mountain, but that's another post.

Tide and Tiger Night

We took Philip to a local event in Montgomery - Tide and Tiger night. It's held in the parking lot of a restaurant and benefits the Red Cross. There's food, drinks, a band, games for the kids, and some past and present Auburn and Alabama football players attend.

Philip quickly became friends with the drummer in the band, who let him play the REAL drums, gave Philip his own set of drumsticks, and a T-shirt. Who knew he was such a charmer?

Here's some video of the drumming:

He was also very interested in the dancing.

The "Big Green Bus" was also there for the kids. It's an actual green bus with lots of fun stuff inside.

Philip loved swinging from the rings!

We spent most of the night in the bus.

We had a wonderful time!!

Working...

Over the past few months, Philip saw ALOT of Mommy working on the couch like this.

He started having some of his own work to do at night before bed.

Apparently Mommy always props her feet up on the coffee table...

Future CPA - someone needs to warn him about busy season!

Easter 2009

We had a great Easter this year - Here is Philip waking up.

The Easter Bunny stopped at our house!

Philip was surprised and excited!

He figured out the eggs had treats inside very quickly!

It wasn't long before he was enjoying a few treats!

We dressed up in our new Easter outfit and attempted a few pictures.

Being still is not our greatest skill right now.

And then the sun was in our eyes.

We had a family brunch with our Sunday School class, and then lunch at Meme and B's house.

Philip really enjoyed the visit from the Easter Bunny.

Tired after a long morning!

Philip and the Easter Bunny

We had an Easter Egh Hunt in our neighborhood this morning.

The Easter Bunny was the special guest!

Philip was more interested in his shoes.

He was more interested in hanging out with the Bunny a little later.

Talking on the Phone

Philip has started talking on the phone - sometimes to grandparents,

And alot to Mommy and Daddy.

Sometimes he carries on a conversation,

and sometimes he just gives a running commentary on whatever he is doing.

Mardi Gras 2009

This post is a little late, but we went to Mobile with our friends Jaime & Robbie for Robbie's Mardi Gras ball.

We had lots of fun and brought Philip back lots of beads.

He calls it his "bling"

Snow

Well, 2 years in a row, now. Montgomery got snow again. And like last year, it didn't stick.

But it snowed for several hours, and at times it was falling pretty hard. Philip really enjoyed it.
