More Birthday Pictures...

These are a little late - but here are some pictures from Philip's actual birthday.

We had pancakes for dinner - these are one of Philip's favorite foods.

After dinner we opened presents!!!

Philip opened his presents very slowly, one inch of paper at a time.

This mailbox has been a big hit around our house. It comes with mail and stamps.

Philip also got some puzzles and train stuff.

We had a wonderful day!

2 Year Old Check-Up

Yesterday was Philip's 2 year old check-up.
He weighs 26 pounds and 8 ounces, and he is 32 1/2 inches tall.
He appears to get his height from his momma, and his music skills from his daddy.

Philip's 2nd Birthday Party

Philip's 2nd Birthday Party was Saturday at the Carousel.
Here's Philip arriving at his party!

Philip's showing Dad where he wants to go - to ride the horses!!

So here we go!

Time for a snack break - here's Philip and his friend Grace picking out their drinks.

Philip also tried riding in this.
What's a birthday party without birthday cake?

Here we are singing Happy Birthday to Philip.

And attempting to blow out the candles.

The cake eating part is easy.
And possibly the best part of the entire day!

Philip's New Room

We recently moved from our house to an apartment while we build a new house. Philip's room was upstairs in our house, and we are all on one level in the apartment. So, he can go into his room whenever he wants to now!

His bookshelf is in his closet (we're tightly packed into this apartment). So, he spends alot of time in his closet getting books.

Then he usually justs sits down in the closet to read.

So, this is where I find him most afternoons.

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July!!
We went to a local neighborhood that has a Fourth of July Celebration.

We played on some slides, had ice cream, listened to a band, had lemonade, and stayed up late to watch the fireworks.

We sat by a lake to wait until dark and watch the fireworks.

Philip was not a big fan of "Staying on the Blanket."

He did like to throw rocks into the lake.

And get all in the mud.

Finally, the fireworks that we had been talking about all day started!!
He watched and said Fireworks over and over.

He loved them!!
Towards the end, the long day caught up with Philip. But he was still able to tell the Fireworks, band, blanket, and anything else we passed "Bye,bye!"

More Swimming...

Philip has his own new pool!!

He was so excited when we set up the pool.

He spent the morning putting all the leaves from the yard into the pool, and then getting in the pool and throwing them out and laughing.

I think the pool is a hit.

Summertime

We're trying to beat the heat at the pool.

Philip does not like to wear or be trapped in any kind of floatation device.

So, we spend our time running back and forth between the big pool and the baby pool.

It's hard to beat the heat while running after an independent child.

Bubbles

Philip had a great time most every afternoon at the beach making bubbles.

He figured out how to wave the wand and make bubbles almost immediately!
